My Target audience
I would say my target audience would be mostly lower middle class people, people that have grown up in a comfortable background but have felt the need to rebel and strike out. They are the sort of people that feel the need to escape, and find that escapism through fashion, they are not afraid to where what they want and have strong opinions on certain subjects.
Although perhaps a little pretentious, they are sure of what they want to do. I would say a lot of the interest lies in fashion and in the industry. Which is why I would put a heavy influence on London culture as this is considered the fashion capital of the UK and would be a place where my audience would definitely aspire to live or work.
The people and ideas that relate to my T.A
Vivienne Westwood
Ative resistance to propaganda Manifesto.
Although very abstract and at time difficult to interpret it was Westwood’s attempt and a political statement, I have a brief video where she discusses it.

These things although seemingly obscure are all ideologies of my target audience and although it is all very abstract I feel this is the key to the idea behind my magazine. The ideas in the manifesto are that young people need to start appreciating life and understanding the world as a whole and things that affect us.
Aside from this Vivienne Westwood is a huge style icon and one of the most successful British designers of all time. Her clothes are very representative of my audience and she is very inspirational to them as a designer who has been around since the late seventies her clothes are heavily influenced on the punk era of the eighties being that my audience is interested in vintage fashion this ties in well.
Her iconic orb logo is very sought after and a lot of people would be something that I would advertise In my magazine had I been asked to choose advertisers she would definitely be one of them, after looking at some of the other magazines that my target audience would read I have been given an insight into what sorts of brands are associated with this audience.

Lady Gaga
Music is a heavy influence on my target audience, but perhaps more on the fashion and style that surrounds their favourite artists. Casing point would someone like lady gaga who at this point in her career is as famous for her fashion statements as she is for her music itself. Her unique uncompromising fashion sense from her early career until now, inspire her fan base to dress in a way that makes them stand out and not be afraid to go all out when it comes to clothes.

Theatricality and costume is a big influence on my audience, their lives would be very over the top and exaggerated especially when it comes to fashion and appearance. Hair in relation to this would also be very important constant change and unusual styles. This will be further explored when I do a study on a particular person that I have modelled my audience on.

This originalality is teamed with an open mindedness when it comes to culture, sexuality, race and gender. Lady gaga presented a 16 minute speech at the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ rally on the subject of gay men in the armed forces, this shows her passion for equality and the fact she wants others to hear her views shows her activist nature.

Lady Gaga sent shockwaves when she wore this raw meat dress to the VMA awards recently and it was clear she trying to make a statement with her chosen outfit but the question that she very vaguely answered was why? “It has many interpretations, but for me this evening, if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”
These are both examples of things that my viewers would be passionate about whether they be male, female, gay or straight they are open minded and not descrimative.
